One connected process.
Bhavya’s published process moves from hand design and CAD through model making, casting, stone work, finishing and final checks.
Manual design
Ideas are developed as hand sketches, informed by form, nature and architectural detail.
CAD design
The selected sketch is translated into a digital three-dimensional design for refinement.
Model making
A wax model and mould turn the approved design into a production form.
Casting
Molten metal fills the mould to create the foundation of the piece.
Filing
The cast metal is cut, shaped and smoothed for clean detail.
Ghat and assembly
The framework and separate sections are joined into the intended form.
Gemstone selection
Stones are selected for their appearance and suitability to the design.
Stone testing
The team describes checks of stone characteristics and material authenticity.
Bagging
Stones are sorted, matched, weighed and prepared for setting.
Setting
Gemstones are secured in the metal casting.
Rhodium plating
Where the design calls for it, rhodium is applied by electroplating.
Puwai or stringing
The components are brought together into the finished form.
Enamelling
Where required, enamel colour and detail are applied to the metal.
Quality check
Workmanship, weight, mechanical function and appearance are checked before completion.
